Photos| Mumbai rains: Flights, trains and buses resume as waters recede

Mumbai received more than 300mm of rain on Tuesday with the Met department forecasting downpour through Wednesday. 15 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra, with bus, train and airport operations resuming.

Flights were lined up to take off despite heavy rains in Mumbai yesterday. As of Wednesday flight services are slowly resuming as airport staff arrive. Helicopter operations have resumed at Juhu aerodrome. Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport is running 55 extra buses to ferry people from satellite towns while traffic remains slow. An outstation train derailment near Mumbai has also led to suburban trains running late on the central line. The total delay on central line services is now 30 minutes, while on the Harbour line trains are running 10 to 15 minutes slow and on the Western Line, trains are delayed by 10 minutes.
