India-US troops take part in annual bilateral exercise 'Yudh Abhyas' in Uttarakhand| Pics
India and United States took part in 'Yudh Abhyas' - an annual bilateral exercise between the militaries - that is spread over two weeks in Uttarakhand's Auli starting November 19. Images from the exercise were shared this week and show soldiers from both countries conducting mock humanitarian drills and disaster relief (HADR) ops, as well as medical aid and evacuations under combat conditions, and unarmed fighting skills. The venue for the exercises alternates every year; in 2021 it was held in Alaska in the US. "Overall, it has been a great learning experience. There has been sharing of best practices between both armies," Brig. Pankaj Verma said. The exercise also reflects strengthening of India-US defense ties and deepening of military cooperation at a time when both nations have a mutual interest in countering China.
