Guru Purnima, a festival dedicated to all academic and spiritual gurus (teachers), was observed in India on July 24. On this day, students pay respect to their gurus for sharing their lessons and knowledge and seek blessings from them.

Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadha, which is from June to July. Buddhists celebrate Buddh Purnima to commemorate the day when Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India. Devotees from across India celebrated the occasion by taking a dip in the Ganga, visiting temples and seeking blessings from their gurus.(ANI)
