The day belonged to the batters in Hyderabad as Pakistan broke the record for the highest succesfull run chase in World Cup history and beat Sri Lanka by six wickets with 10 balls to spare. Sri Lanka scored 344/9 and centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan helped Pakistan chase it down with neartly two overs to spare. (PTI)

Sri Lanka were propelled to their total thanks to whirlwind centuries from Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama. Mendi scored 122 in just 77 balls(PTI)

Samarawickrama scored 108 in 89. Mendis first put up a 102-run partnership with Pathum Nissanka that came in 95 balls. Then came a 111-run stand between Mendis and Samarawickrama that came in just 69 balls. (ANI )
