An information technology company located in Hinjewadi has allegedly failed to provide training and jobs to 47 fresh college graduates after taking money from them in the name of training. The complaint states Sapsphinx Infotech Private Limited, a company located in Hinjewadi area near Pimpri-Chinchwad, as the offending firm.
“He (firm representative) claimed to a partner of SAP which is a major software company. When we checked the SAP website, their name was not in it. They do not have systems or software. I paid Rs 2,00,000 through Google Pay, and some even Rs 3,00,000 as payment for provision of S4 HANA training. Others paid through various online transfer methods. Twenty of us paid for SAP training and the remaining for Java and testing training,” said one of the complainants, who chose to remain anonymous as he claims to be awaiting his salary for the past five months.
“We have received a verbal complaint and have asked them to submit it in writing to our office. The case will be investigated and the company’s version will also be considered,” said Nikhil Walke, deputy labour commissioner, Pune.
Subsequently, on Thursday, a representative of the company was called to the Pune labour commissioner’s office to record their stand in the matter. “They did not know about the issue. They have taken copies of the documents submitted by the students. They said they will answer the allegations on the next date,” said a labour office staffer who chose to remain anonymous.

{{/usCountry}}In the complaint application in Marathi, the complainants have written that the company took two signatures from them every day even though there was no training going on. The signatures, they have alleged, are being used as proof of their attendance at the training.
“We are not answerable to anyone but the court. We have no interest in answering questions about this matter,” said Pradnya Mahale, director, Sapsphinx Infotech Private Limited company.
Meanwhile, the 47 complainants have also approached the Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissioner’s office with the matter.
