A four-month old child was kidnapped from Pune railway station on Friday night. The child was identified as Pramod Kang, who lived on the station with his mother Sangita Anand Kang, 25, a resident of Koparde in Karveer area of Kolhapur.
She approached the police after she woke up to find her son gone. She has alleged that two women who had met her on Friday morning had taken off with her son.
Kang had been living on platform number two of Pune railway junction for the past 15 days and was begging to earn a living. She followed a routine of begging in the Pune Mandai (vegetable market) in Shukrawar peth area of Pune in the day, and sleeping at the railway station in the night.
In her complaint, she told the police that she met two women, who were with three other children, who the woman had claimed were her kids. They met around 11am on Friday at platform number two of Pune station and spent some time near the dargah outside the station, before heading to mandai area along with their four children in an autorickshaw.
Around 8pm, they returned from mandai to the station, also in a rickshaw, and slept. However, when Kang woke up around midnight, she found that the children, including Pramod, and the women were missing. While one of the two women is in her thirties, the other one is in her 20s, according to Kang’s complaint. The three other children with them are between five to six years of age.

{{/usCountry}}She approached the Pune railway police and lodged a complaint. A case under Section 363(a) and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Pune railway police station. While Anil Pasge, police sub-inspector, registered the case, Manoj Khandale, police inspector of Pune railway police station will be investigating the case.
