The Pune police have identified the assailants of builder Deven Shah and dispatched a team to arrest them. Shah was shot at close range by two assailants in the parking lot of his residence at Prabhat road on Saturday night. He succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at a private hospital.

According to the police , the accused were identified as Ravi Chorge and Rahul Shivtare. “Shivtare has been booked for murder in the past whereas Chorge has charges against him for body offences at Faraskhana police station. These two accused used to deal with real estate matters and were known to Shah, however, more things will come to the fore once these two get arrested,” added the source.

Sameer Sheikh, assistant commissioner of police (Crime), said , “We have deployed our teams and are going to arrest them soon.”

Deven Shah (56), founder of Ambika Corp, who used to reside at Sayali Apartments in Lane no 7 of Prabhat road, was shot at around 11:05 pm. They sent a person who runs a laundry shop there to call Shah downstairs. Initially, Shah’s son Atit came downstairs but the duo told him that they have come to meet his father and not him. Later, when Shah arrived downstairs; he was instantly shot at by the two assailants. Shah received two bullet injuries in the chest and ribs.The heinous act has been caught on CCTV which helped the police identify the suspects in the case.
