Pune: Marathon organised on World Day Against Child Labour to spread awareness

More than 1000 people from all walks of life have already registered for the 21km-14km -7km run and for the “Freedom Walk” of 3km.

On the occasion of World Day Against Child Labour (12 June), Hope for the Children Foundation (HFCF) will be conducting a “Run for their Freedom Marathon”- ‘I Say NO to Child Labour’ on June 11th 2017 in Kalyani Nagar. This would be the 3rd consecutive year that the run is being organized.

The Foundation believes that all children should be given an opportunity to be educated which would in turn eradicate poverty and child labour. Since 2011, they have taken up the cause every year and spread awareness among common people on the ‘Child labour Issue’.

More than 1000 people from all walks of life have already registered for the 21km-14km -7km run and for the “Freedom Walk” of 3km. The event will be held at the Mulik Palace near Classic Rock in Kalyani Nagar. The event’s first race of 21 kms will be flagged off by by Sandvik MD Parag Satpute, while the 14 kms will be flagged off by Ranjit Anand – MD, Credit Suisse Services, India. The 7km run would be flagged off by Sid Banerjee MD and Head of Group Finance,Credit Suisse Services while the ‘The Freedom walk’ of 3km will be flagged off by Caroline Audoir de Valter, Founder of the Hope for the Children Foundation. Prizes will be at the hands of Guinness world record holder and ultra marathoner Michelle Kakade.
