Pune police launch drive in PCMC to drive criminals ‘All Out’

Operation All Out, which has been chalked out by Ganesh Shinde, deputy commissioner (Zone III), included preventive action against 150 offenders including externed criminals, criminals on record, absconding accused and people caught driving under the influence of alcohol, which includes rash and negligent driving.

Pune police, in its bid to curb the rising menace of crime in the industrial town ship of Pimpri-Chinchwad, conducted Operation All Out in the industrial police station areas and took action against 150 criminals involved in different offences across the city.

The operation, which has been chalked out by Ganesh Shinde, deputy commissioner (Zone III), included preventive action against 150 offenders including externed criminals, criminals on record, absconding accused and people caught driving under the influence of alcohol, which includes rash and negligent driving. The drive was carried between 9pm and 11pm on Friday night.

DCP Shinde said, “The action has been taken to make the area safe for the residents and bring crime rates under control. The drive was focused on youngsters breaking the law by indulging in binge drinking, rioting, including vandalism, speeding, throwing all the rules to the wind, and driving under the influence of alcohol. We will continue our crackdown as it will make the area safer and secure for residents of various housing societies.”

The police also focused on absconding criminals and prepared detailed reports on their whereabouts. Police officials involved in the drive said that the move was aimed at stricter control measures being put in place by the city police to bring crime under a tight leash.
