Six stolen two-wheelers recovered after serial offender’s arrest in Pune

Dattawadi police have arrested a serial vehicle thief and recovered six stolen two-wheelers from his possession on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Yogesh Navnath Wanjale (20), a resident of Ghorpadi Vasti in Loni Kalbhor.
Dattatreya Mohite, police sub-inspector and his detection team were on regular patrol when they received information that a suspicious person was on his way from Dattanagar chowk to Jambhulwadi, on a stolen two-wheeler.
A trap was laid by police and he was taken into custody. Police officials said that Wanjale was a criminal on record and had cases lodged against him at Hadapsar, Kondhwa, Yawat, Loni Kalbhor and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth police stations.
Police sub-inspector Mohite said, “ We have arrested Wanjale under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). We are also trying to find out whether any other criminal gangs are involved in the incident from a broader perspective.”
