Speeding dumper runs over woman in Pune

Police said the accused driver fled the scene after the accident.

A speeding dumper killed a 30-year-old woman near Janak Baba Dargah in Kharadi on Monday morning. According to the airport police, the incident took place around 7.30 am when the heavy vehicle rammed into the two-wheeler driven by Sweety Shikha Ashish Vashisht ( 30), a resident of Umang Premium Society in Wagholi, causing her death on the spot. The dumper driver fled the scene after the accident, police said. The accused has been booked under charges of rash and negligent driving and also relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA).

The victim was riding a two-wheeler when the speeding dumper hit the vehicle. (FOR REPRESENTATION ONLY)
