Officials informed that the details about the programme was released on the official website, http://sppupdf.unipune.ac.in/. The online application procedure for the same is tentatively set to begin from September 1. Only researchers of Maharashtra state are eligible to apply for it.

The fellowship is open to researchers below the age of 32 years. The age relaxation for reserved category and women among others will be given as per the rules and regulations of the government of Maharashtra, informed university officials.

“Post-doctoral research is in fact an important avenue as it creates independent researchers under the guidance of an accomplished mentor. All the top academic institutes in the world promote such research activities. However, post-doctoral research culture is not widely established in India. With this in mind, we have launched the fellowship programme,” said Nitin Karmalkar, vice-chancellor.
