Step-father, mother arrested for assaulting minor in Pune

The accused man married the victim’s mother recently. However, he was seen getting intimate with the victim by her family members, who initially ignored it, but later took cognisance the situation.

A man was on Friday arrested for sexually assaulting his 11-year-old step-daughter for two months, while the mother was also booked and arrested for her alleged involvement in the act.

The victim’s aunt filed a complaint in the matter. The complainant stated that the 40-year-old accused was married to her elder sister last year since her husband had died some years ago. “We saw the man getting extra close to the girl, but initially we ignored it considering that technically, he was her father. However, the girl would often remain sad and when we asked her, she would say that he touched her inappropriately. I even told this to my sister, but she would not pay any heed to it, leading to suspicion. However, things only got worse and that is why I had to file an FIR,” the victim’s aunt stated in her complaint.
