The Sirhind crime investigating agency (CIA) staff on Monday arrested a man with a Bolero car and two fake identity cards of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) bus drivers.
Bikramjit Singh Brar, CIA Sirhind in-charge, said a team led by ASI Harnek Singh during checking in Isherhail village received a tip-off that Kamal Singh Bhatti of Mohali, who used to steal vehicles and prepare forged documents, was on his way from Mohali to Sirhind in a Bolero with a fake number.
After receiving the information, the police team put up a naka and arrested Bhatti. The police also recovered a laptop, two printers, a fake registration copy of the Bolero car, two fake identity cards of CTU drivers.
Bikramjit Singh Brar said it came to light that Bhatti had stolen the Bolero from Shimla in January, 2010.
A case was registered at Badali Ala Singh police station and investigations are going on.
