The deceased has been identified as Ishar Ahmed.

As per information, Ishar was living here with his father and five others, all of whom sell blankets and are from Jammu and Kashmir, for nearly a month.

Javed Ahmed, the victim’s father, said he along with his roommates left the house at 8.30am, leaving Ishar at home alone. When Javed returned at 3.45pm, he found the body of his son lying in a pool of blood.

“I informed the police and the local municipal councillor about the incident,” he said.

Getting information about this, a team from Satnampura police station led by superintendent of police (SP) Ashwani Kumar and DSP Manpreet Singh Dhillon rushed to the spot for an investigation.

Dhillon said the accused had stabbed the boy on his neck and in the abdomen with a sharp-edged weapon such as knife. People in the neighbourhood claimed that they did not see anybody entering the house.

A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code at the Satnampura police station.
