2 die, around 90 ill after consuming contaminated water in Moga

Two women of Lopo village under Nihal Singh Wala sub-division in this district have died and around 90 people have reported ill after allegedly having consumed contaminated water.

The ailing people were admitted to the primary health centre and various private hospitals.

The deceased, Harmeet Kaur, 51, and Simarpreet Kaur, 19, were suffering from fever and stomach problems.

Senior health and water supply officials on Monday visited the village on Monday. Youth Congress leader Sukhwinder Singh Danny also visited the village and heard the grievances of the poor patients.
