During a special checking, the staff of Ludhiana central jail recovered two mobile phones from the lunch box of jail inmates, besides Rs 1,000 in cash.

The jail officials have lodged a first information report against four inmates at the Division Number 7 police station under section 52A(1) of the Prison Act and section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Kumar of Tajpur Road; Amandeep Singh of Dashmesh Nagar, Jagraon; Sehaj Preet Singh of Nathodwal village of Raikot; and Kuldeep Singh of Parjiyan Kalan of Jalandhar.
In his complaint, assistant superintendent of Ludhiana central jail Dev Raj said the jail staff conducted a surprise check in jail on Friday and found two mobile phones and Rs 1,000 in cash from the accused. The property and cash were hidden in lunch boxes.
