200 participate in annual athletics meet of State Bank of Patiala

The State Bank of Patiala, Ludhiana zone, conducted its second annual athletics meet at Guru Nanak Dev Stadium here on Sunday.

The State Bank of Patiala, Ludhiana zone, conducted its second annual athletics meet at Guru Nanak Dev Stadium here on Sunday.

As many as 200 employees of bank participated in various events. Bank chief general manager Haridas KV was the chief guest on the occasion, while district sports officer Mohinder Singh presided over as guest of honour.

Badminton, table tennis, carrom, races and shot put were the major events, which were played apart from a gatka performance which enthralled everyone.

Ludhiana zone deputy general manager Rajeev Kumar Sharma, said games played a vital role in everyone's life. Besides keeping people healthy, games refresh the mind, he added.

Chief guest Haridas donated a water cooler with RO system to SCD Government College for Boys, under the community service activities undertaken by the SBP every year.

Addressing the gathering, he said the bank had opened more than 1,300 branches of which 556 were in Punjab.
