2014 Lok Sabha polls in state make-or-break chance for BJP

The NaMo wave and the fact many political leaders have jumped parties to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has led experts to believe the party — always on the fringe of Haryana politics — stands a good chance of doing well in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP has a dismal electoral record in the past LS and assembly elections as the Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) have always fared well.

In the 2009 general polls, the BJP was not able to win even one Lok Sabha seat, while in the electoral battle in 2004, it had managed just one. But now, riding on the Modi, many candidates have jumped ship to the BJP.
