A 24-year-old man was killed in a police encounter that took place near Jeeda village on Wednesday night.
The victim, identified as Ajmer Singh ‘Jimmy’, a native of Thandewala village in Muktsar district, was shot dead on Jeeda-Dabrikhana road at about 11:30 pm.

The body of the victim was brought to Bathinda civil hospital from where, on request of Faridkot police, the body was taken to a Faridkot hospital as the encounter took place in jurisdiction of Faridkot police. The killed man didn’t have any cases filed against him.
The victim had come to his in-laws house in Jeeda village. A CIA police party was following him.
