Three days before Independence Day, 265 live cartridges, including those which could be used in assault rifle AK-47 were found along the boundary wall of a school in Civil Lines on Wednesday in Ludhiana.

Three days before Independence Day, 265 live cartridges, including those which could be used in assault rifle AK-47 were found along the boundary wall of a school in Civil Lines on Wednesday in Ludhiana.

The cartridges were found by Kundan Vidya Mandir school's bus staff after they brought students to school premises at about 8 am, police said.

Station house officer (SHO) Gurpreet Singh said, "Cartridges belong to different types of guns including those which could be used in AK-47 rifle."

He said investigations are in progress.
