Three persons were arrested for passing lewd remarks on a woman labourer in Jalandhar. The victim (25), mother of two children, rang up women helpline toll free number 1091 from her mobile phone immediately after facing harassments at the hands of road Romeos at Khurla Kingra village.
The police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused, who were also labourers. They were booked under section 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 509 (word, gesture or act to insult modesty of a woman) under the IPC.
