District election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Priyank Bharti said: "As per the guidelines of the Election Commission (EC), micro observers have been deployed in the district and their randomisation has been done in presence of general poll observers."

He said employees enrolled with the central government departments were chosen as micro observers. "Micro observers would keep a hawk's eye on activities at sensitive and hypersensitive booths till the election process ends on April 30," he said.

He said besides keeping a tab on the electoral process and the candidates, micro observers would closely monitor activities of polling staff.
