5 arrested for public drinking

The Sirhind police arrested five Nabha residents for consuming alcohol in a public place. According to sources, police official Hamir Singh found that the accused, travelling in a Qualis, were consuming liquor near the Tarkhan Majra bridge.

A case was registered under Sections 68/1/14 of the Excise Act against the accused Jiwan Singh, Satnam Singh, Mandeep Singh, Jatinder Kumar and Sukhdev Singh. They were later released on bail.
