In the representation, the workers said they had been working for the factory since 2007, but the factory's management on Wednesday pasted a layoff notice without any intimation, and demanded that it be withdrawn.

The fired employees were employed as supervisor, operators and helpers. The workers accused the factory management of violating the norms of various labour laws governing the country, and also said that their salaries had not been released in time.

District labour officer Jitender Bindra said he had directed a labour inspector to look into the matter. Refuting the allegations, factory general manger SK Sharma claimed that the dispute had been settled.
