The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday held a rally at the Ram Lila Ground in Pathankot, attended largely by youth.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh who was invited to address the gathering from New Delhi could not attend the rally.

Luxury cars and SUVs were seen parked outside the venue with the stage shared by Congress rebel Davinder Singh Darshi who recently joined the AAP after he was not given a berth in the PPCC. The party had put hoardings in every nook and corner of the city to publicise its rally.

Party leaders Rajeev Kalra and Anoop Singh had come from New Delhi to see the mood of public here. Some old AAP associate raised objection when Davinder Singh Darshi was given opportunity to speak on the stage.

Sandeep Sharma, an AAP member along with his supporters, objected against giving extraordinary treatment to Darshi and claimed that the party was known for "considering everyone equal irrespective of their financial status".

Rajeev Kalra said Kejriwal and the party had swung into action in the national capital and the results would be soon before the country.

Both the Congress and BJP are keeping a close watch on the AAP activities here. When contacted about the development, local MLA Ashwani Sharma said every party had the right to hold rallies anywhere.
