The meeting took place on Saturday evening at Bawa’s house, where Phoolka and former Akali MP Harinder Singh Khalsa were present. It has been learnt reliably that Phoolka has offered Bawa to join the AAP on a senior position and lead the Lok Sabha election campaign. Bawa was Ludhiana district Congress president from 2002 to 2004.

Bawa is disillusioned with the Congress as his name did not appear on the state party office-bearers list declared last December. At that time, he had resigned as member of Film Censor Board as well as the telecom advisory committee in protest, saying “non-deserving”
people had been elevated.
