While chairing a meeting of officials here, Tiwari said 102 purchase centres had been set up in the district. He directed all agencies to depute required staff in all grain markets of district at the earliest.

He asked the SDMs to personally visit the grain markets in their areas, give final touches to the arrangements, and depute a gazetted officer for every grain market, who would ensure daily check in markets.

The DC asked the DMO to make final checking of power cleaners and tarpaulins with the arhityas (commission agents) in all mandis.

He appealed to the farmers to refrain from harvesting immature wheat and to not operate harvest combine in night in the field.
