Amity University V-C asks industry to take social responsibility seriously

Vice-chancellor of Amity University Balvinder Shukla has advised the industry to take corporate social responsibility (CSR) seriously since they are using the natural resources of the society for their development.

Vice-chancellor of Amity University Balvinder Shukla has advised the industry to take corporate social responsibility (CSR) seriously since they are using the natural resources of the society for their development.

Presiding over the morning session on the concluding day of the third International Conference on Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility at Cordia Group of Educational Institutes at Sanghol on Sunday, she said the industry should voluntarily spend a part of their profit on replenishing the natural resources of the society that they had used for profit making.

She advised the delegates to analyse the impact of the CSR on the development of society so that their real contribution to society could be assessed.

Prof Thomas Fraser, Professor Emeritus, the UK, highlighted Lala Lajpat Rai's contribution in creating educational infrastructure in India when the British Rulers were ignoring the education sector.

Presided over the second session, chairman of the Cordia Group of Educational Institutes Lord Diljit Rana thanked the speakers for sharing valuable insight.

Presiding over the third session Prof BB Goyal from University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, advised the delegates and students to go in for empirical studies to make the research more useful.

Campus director RK Sharma, proposed the vote of thanks.
