A 27-year-old Amritsar-based businessman was allegedly robbed of his car at gunpoint by four unidentified persons at Jandiala, nearly 20 kilometres from Amritsar, on Tuesday.

In his complaint, the victim told the police said when he was going to Mehta village, about 25km from Amritsar, in his Mahindra Logan car (PB-02-BE-0732) a white car waylaid him near Lalka Nagar in Jandiala.

“Three men with their faces covered alighted from the vehicle and came to me. While two of them were carrying pistols, one had a sharp-edged weapon. I got down my car and they took it along after pointing a gun on my head,” Dhawan said.

Soon after getting information, the Jandiala police reached the spot and started investigation.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Rashpal Singh of Jandiala police station said that on Dhawan’s complaint a case under Section 379-B (snatching) of the India Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act was registered against four indentified men.
