Recently, during a ‘party worker conference’ held in her constituency, the local unit did not invite her. Her picture, too, found no place on the hoardings.

Talking to HT, district BJP chief and councillor Rajesh Honey said: “Yes, we have decided not to invite Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu to any party function or meeting. First, she needs to clear her position. At times she says she won’t contest till the BJP is in alliance with Akalis, at times she starts praising the Aam Aadmi Party, then sometimes she starts lauding the Congress. We are confused what exactly she wants to say.”

Honey said even after Navjot Singh Sidhu launched Awaaz-e-Punjab, Dr Sidhu said she is waiting for the new front to come out with a formal plan before taking any decision on it. Honey said the party did not put her picture on hoardings during the recent function in her constituency because she is “unclear”.

“While Navjot Singh Sidhu had a standing in the party, she had none. It is the party that made her an MLA and chief parliamentary secretary (CPS). It’s unfortunate she is making utterances against the party,” said Honey.
