Police have arrested another man for sheltering gangster Gaurav Sharma alias Goru Bachcha. The accused, Navjot Singh of Nirmal Nagar in Dugri, runs a mobile repair shop in Phase-1, Dugri.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sukhwinder Singh said, “Navjot is a close aide of Goru. He used to recharge Goru’s mobile for free and also provided shelter. The accused also arranged legal aid for the gangster, who is wanted in 20 cases, including killing of auto driver Vikrant Kumar, opening fire at Johny Lamba, robbery and rape.”
“Police had registered a case under Sections 212 (harbouring offender) and 216-A (harbouring robbers or dacoits) of the IPC against the accused after arresting him. He was later bailed out,” Singh said.
On June 24, the police had arrested Jeevan Sekha, district president of Student Organisation of India (SOI), student wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), for sheltering the gangster.

{{/usCountry}}Besides, police have found that Goru had procured the mobile phone number using fake identity proofs. Police also suspect that he took Navjot’s help in getting a new number.
SEKHA CAME TO DELIVER CASH TO GORU
While interrogating SOI district chief Jeevan Sekha, police have learned that he had come to Dugri near CRPF Colony to deliver cash to Goru’s accomplices on June 24 after the gangster had shot at friend-turned-foe Johny Lamba.
Police also suspect Sekha had committed some snatchings with Goru.
Sekha had taken Goru’s help at many occasions either it is to threaten people for taking the possession of any land or getting a piece of land vacated.
On Monday, police had produced Sekha in the court, which sent him to Ludhiana central jail on judicial remand. Earlier, he was in police remand.
