A helicopter of the Indian army made an emergency landing in Garhshankar subdivision of the district on Tuesday afternoon due to a technical snag. The two crew members escaped unhurt.

Around 3.30pm, the chopper of the 11 Corps, Jalandhar, landed in a school ground at Fatehpur Khurd village, triggering panic among villagers. On being alerted, another chopper with a technical team from Jalandhar arrived and corrected the glitch, after which both choppers took off.
Local police officials also rushed to the spot. The army declined to give details of the incident.
