The car owner alleged that the cop was in an inebriated condition and misbehaved with him.
Ravinder Pal Singh, owner of the car, said he, along with his family, planned to eat out on Sunday, and stopped the car near Fountain Chowk to decided on the eatery. Meanwhile, a cop appeared there and asked him to park the car on the roadside.

Singh said as he parked the car on the side, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Surinder Pal came there and started abusing him for wrong parking. Singh alleged that he told the cop that he had not parked the car but only stopped momentarily. But, paying no heed, the ASI issued a challan for Rs 300.

He paid the fine under protest and left the spot, Singh said, adding that after sometime when he checked the challan receipt, he was shocked to see that the ASI had mentioned the wrong car number. While his car's registration number is PB10-CP-0190, the number on the challan was PB10-DS-8332. He then reported the matter to senior cops, who suggested him to take `300 back and wrap up the matter, he alleged.
