Badal said this during a visit to Nishkam Sewa Vidya Mandir, Chandigarh road, on Sunday. While talking to the media, Badal expressed hope that the government would soon announce an industrial as well as an agricultural package for Punjab. “I will soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi over this issue. We are already in talks with the Center regarding an industrial and agricultural package," said the CM.

He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) alliance in the state was unbreakable and both parties have strong bonding. Badal alleged that the UPA government knew that they would not be able to form government in 2014 and that was why, they emptied the coffers of the exchequer during their rule.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included, MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon, BJP district president Parveen Bansal, former MLA Harish Rai Dhanda, among others. Later the CM also attended the first death anniversary of Tejinderpal Singh Makkar, son of SGPC chief Jathedar Avtar Singh Makkar at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Model Town Extension
