Badal falls ill, cancels all engagements

A spokesperson for the CM’s office said Badal (88) has been advised rest and to avoid travelling by doctors who examined him in the morning. No details of the nature of his illness were, however, available.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal cancelled all his engagements on Tuesday as he was unwell.

A spokesperson for the CM’s office said Badal (88) has been advised rest and to avoid travelling by doctors who examined him in the morning. No details of the nature of his illness were, however, available.

The chief minister is scheduled to visit the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here on Wednesday morning for a check-up and consultation.

Badal was scheduled to visit Jalandhar on Tuesday to attend the ‘Rasam Kriya’ (memorial function) of slain RSS leader Brigadier (retd) Jagdish Gagneja.
