Mounting an offensive against the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday alleged that Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy CM son Sukhbir Badal could be behind the incidents of sacrilege in the state.
“I suspect Badals wanted to create communal tension in Punjab through incidents of sacrilege to divert the attention of people from their failure on all fronts,” Kejriwal said while addressing a rally here in favour of party candidate Jagtar Singh Rajla.
He said the SAD-BJP government, which claimed to be Panthic, has failed to nab the guilty of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, Quran-e-Sharif and Bhagawat Gita.
“How could the culprits of Bargari sacrilege incident go scot free if Badals were not behind such incidents,” he charged.
Kejriwal also alleged that the Punjab CM can further flare up communal tension in the state, having sensed that AAP is going to sweep the coming assembly polls.
SAD, CONGRESS 2 SIDES OF THE SAME COIN
He described the SAD and the Congress as two sides of the same coin. “Badal and (state Congress chief) Captain Amarinder Singh are the most corrupt politicians of Punjab whereas AAP has already proved its mettle as far as its stand against corruption is concerned,” he said while adding that AAP will end corruption in Punjab.

{{/usCountry}}He alleged that Badal is so desperate to thwart AAP’s victory in Punjab that he is spending money in Amarinder’s campaign “He knows Amarinder will let Akalis go scot free while AAP will punish them for their misdeeds,” he added.
BADALS WANT SHARE IN EVERY BUSINESS: MANN
Addressing the gathering, AAP MP Bhagwant Mann said, “It has become difficult for all businessmen to run their businesses in Punjab, as Badals keep an eye on them to get their share.”
Reacting to Sukhbir Badal’s statement that Mann would forfeit his deposit in a contest with him from Jalalabad constituency, the MP said, “It seems Sukhbir is having a hangover of power, but people will give him a befitting reply during the polls.”
Meanwhile, Congress workers held a protest in Samana against the alleged anti-Punjab stance of Kejriwal on the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal and some other issues.
