The balloon, bearing the picture of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and a message in Urdu-‘Jashn-e-Azadi mubarak’ (Happy Independence Day)-created panic in the Fatehpur village in Bamyal sector.

As Pakistan had celebrated its Independence Day on the intervening night, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rakesh Kaushal said the balloon could have flown in our territory with the flow of air. He said there was nothing to worry about as the forces would not allow anyone’s entry from the ground through the Indian Borders.

Bamyal Border has remained a favourite route for the militants who had attacked in Punjab thrice, including the attack on Pathankot Air Base on January 2 this year.
