Bathinda administration’s website not updated for months

The website http://bathinda.nic.in of the district administration is not being updated regularly so it is misleading the people in the case of names and contact numbers of senior officials of some departments

Bathinda: The website http://bathinda.nic.in of the district administration is not being updated regularly so it is misleading the people in the case of names and contact numbers of senior officials of some departments.

Names and mobile numbers of many officials, who have either been transferred or have retired are still shown on the website.

Gurmeet Singh Butter was transferred in November 2010 as director of the regional centre of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) here.

He is currently working as additional director of extension education at PAU, Ludhiana. However, he is still working in Bathinda, according to the website of the district administration.

The contact number of vice-chancellor of Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bathinda, Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, has not been added yet in the website, however, campus director JS Hundal does figure in the website.

District sports officer Darshan Singh Bhullar retired on January 31, 2014. But he is still there going by the site. However, now Saroj Dhiman is working as district sports officer.

Nanak Singh joined as superintendent of police (headquarters) about more than a week ago, but the website does not say anything about him.

Jasbir Singh is still at the post, according to the website.

District informatics officer Sandeep Kumar Gupta said that the department assists the administration for updating the website, “however, it is the duty of the departments concerned to inform us about the retirement and transfer of officials so that we can update the website.”
