Bathinda: Seven booked for 'attack' on BJP worker

Police have booked seven persons in connection with the alleged attack on BJP worker Munish Pandi during polling for the municipal corporation elections here on Sunday.

Police have booked seven persons in connection with the alleged attack on BJP worker Munish Pandi during polling for the municipal corporation elections here on Sunday.

On the basis of a complaint by Pardeep Singh, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, police have booked Randeep Singh, Ramesh, Sukhmandar Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Rupinder Singh, Beant Singh and Ajaib Singh under sections 323, 325 (both regarding voluntarily causing hurt), 447 (criminal trespass) and 148 (rioting with deadly weapons) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The complainant alleged that the accused called up Pandi, telling him that some voters in Guru Nanak Nagar locality were waiting to be taken along for casting their votes. When Pandi reached the place, the accused allegedly attacked him with weapons
