On Monday, Himmat, a former granthi of the Akal Takht and brother of former Takht Damdama Sahib jathedar Gurmukh Singh, had also accused Randhawa of pressuring him to sign documents submitted to Justice Ranjit Singh in his office on his name.

Majithia, who was addressing a rally at Khilchian village in the Baba Bakala assembly segment said, Himmat has uncovered the conspiracy hatched against the Badal family in the name of investigating sacrilege incidents.

Terming reports of the commission fabricated, he said this is an act of vitiating peaceful atmosphere of Punjab and disturbing communal harmony. Seeking a legal action against those behind the “conspiracy”, Majitiha said the probe should be done by the sitting judge of the Supreme Court in the sacrilege issue.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) trade wing leaders Puran Singh Gill and Gurmeet Singh Panesar joined the SAD during the rally also attended by Khadoor Sahib MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and former Akali minister Gulzar Singh Ranike.
