Punjab CM Amarinder appoints loyalists as advisors

Punjab chef minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday appointed three of his loyalists, including close confidante BIS Chahal, as advisors.

Punjab chef minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday appointed three of his loyalists, including close confidante BIS Chahal, as advisors.

Chahal has been appointed as advisor to the CM in the rank of minister of state, said an official spokesman. He had also served as Amarinder’s media advisor during previous Congress regime from 2002-2007.

The CM also appointed retired inspector general of police Khubi Ram as his security advisor.

Senior journalist Raveen Thukral, who steered Amarinder’s media campaign in the recent assembly polls, has been appointed as media advisor to the chief minister, in the rank of minister of state.
