In a bizarre incident, two men and a 16-year-old were injured after they were hit by stray bullets from what the police claim was an airgun fired from an unknown person in Sector-39 residential area on Sunday evening.
An airgun is similar to the much-maligned pellet gun, in news for its use in Kashmir these days.

The police have not been able to trace the person who fired the gun, but have lodged a case against an unidentified person for mischief on a complaint from the three victims. Davinder (21) and Rothil (16) have been injured due to the splinters/bullet from the air gun.
The third victim has been identified as Varinder (33), who was passing by the area.
A PCR was called on to the spot, but the accused could not be traced.
The victims were rushed to Government Multi-speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16 for first-aid and were later discharged.

{{/usCountry}}Sector 39 SHO Dilsher Chandel said, “The victims are fine. None of them were injured critically. It seems like somebody was doing mischief in the ground. We have registered a case under section 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unknown person and have started investigation.”
