The incident took place around 9.50 as Gurwinder was sitting at accused Darbara Singh’s house. The bullet hit Gurwinder in the stomach, and he was admitted to Max Hospital here.

DSP Gurjeet Singh Romana said an attempt-to-murder case had been registered against Darbara. The DSP said the exact reason behind the attack was yet to be ascertained. The accused is at large, he added.

According to information, Darbara also fired three shots from a .32 pistol at Gurwinder’s car.

Mohit Gupta, district president of the BJP (urban), said the injured was unconscious.
