The victims have been identified as Dhara Singh (40), a resident of Bhalot village in the district and brother-in-law of BJP's Rohtak nominee Om Prakash Dhankhar, and Sanjay Singh, also a party worker. Both received injuries on the head.

The victims told mediapersons that Bittu Hooda, nephew of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, was allegedly attempting bogus voting.

When they objected to it, he and his supporters allegedly attacked them with sticks. The victims charged that the attack was carried out after taking PGIMS Chowki in-charge MI Khan into confidence, who was equally responsible for it.

Later, DSP Karan Goel reached the spot for conducting an investigation into the incident.

Dhankhar also rushed to the Rohtak medical college to know the well being of his relative and said his Congress rivals have lost their confidence in the democratic process and are resorting to violence after seeing that they are losing ground on their home turf.

Jaihind had made a formal police complaint in this regard.
