During the three-day meet at Solan, the BJP leadership will deliberate on various issues related to the party as well as to the ruling Congress government.

On July 25, the BJP's core group, comprising top leaders, will have a meeting while the party's executive will go into a huddle for the next two days.

BJP's newly-appointed president Amit Shah is likely to attend the meeting, party sources said. BJP national general secretary JP Nadda, whose name was in the reckoning for party's presidentship, will also be present apart from national organising secretary Ram Lal and national vice-president Balbir Punj, incharge of the state party affairs.

Himachal Pradesh BJP president Satpal Singh Satti, former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, former party chief Jai Ram Thakur, senior leaders Khimi Ram, Suresh Bhardwaj , general secretaries Bipin Parmar, Dr Rajiv BIndal and Randhir Sharma, and party's organsing secretary Pawan Rana will also be part of the deliberations.

The party executive will discuss in detail the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections. Though the BJP had won all the four seats hands down to Congress but there were some assembly constituencies where the party candidates lagged behind their Congress rivals.

"The party will deliberate on all aspects with regard to the state unit, including its strengths and weaknesses," said Satti.

The meeting will also discuss the ways and means to strengthen its units at the booth and the Panchyati levels since the elections to the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) are drawing closer, he added. Elections to the PRIs will be held next year and both the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP have begun preparations in this regard.

The BJP meeting is also likely to hold discussions on the policies and programmes of the Virbhadra Singh government.

"The Congress government has so far failed on all fronts and it has not been able to come up to the expectations of the common man," Satti said.

Satti and party general secretary Rajiv Bindal had recently met Amit Shah in Delhi to formally invite him for the party's three-day deliberations.
