Body packed in sack found from well in Bhagpur

A body packed in sack was found in a well in Bhagpur village, around 20 km from here, on Friday. The owner of farm, which housed the well, saw the sack in the well and informed the police.

The Koom Kalan police found a telephone diary from the pocket of the deceased and on Saturday, it succeeded in identifying the man by calling the phone numbers written in the diary.

The deceased has been identified as Lal Bahadur (26). Hailing from Sitapur of Uttar Pradesh, Bahadur was a labourer.

Inspector Vinod Kumar said farm owner Kulwinder Singh informed the police about the body on Friday. Kulwinder said he, along with his cousin, had gone to the farm to water the crops, when he saw a sack lying in the well. On finding the lifeless body of a man in the sack, he sounded the police.

Following the statement of Kulwinder, the police registered a case under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unidentified accused in this context

He further added that the police suspect old enmity behind the murder. He also claimed getting vital clues in the case.
