The Indo-Pak trade through the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at the Attari Border resumed on Tuesday after the porters called off the strike.

Over 1,200 porters had gone on strike five days ago, laying claim on ‘dala’ money (token amount taken to unload boxes), which, they said, was wrongly being paid to the Clearing House Agents.

In a meeting held on Tuesday, it was decided to do away with the ‘dala’ money.

Due to the strike, the trade came to a standstill, resulting in losses to the traders. Over 250 trucks carrying cement, gypsum, dry dates and dry fruits were stranded on the Pakistani side. Similarly, goods meant for export had piled up on the Indian side.
