The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) eyes a chance in the split between the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and the BJP and hopes to reap rich dividends in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
Minutes after the JD-U broke ties with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), BSP's national general secretary Narender Kashyap said it was very much in the race for the Prime Minister's post.
Addressing a rally of workers of Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency in Roshan Grounds here on Sunday, he said the BSP had every chance to come at the helm after the elections.
“The BJP is now in a tight position. It would not be possible for it to free itself from Modi's “Chakravyuh”. The latest political developments had made things easier for the BSP to fulfill its dream of gaining power at the Centre,” he asserted.
Kashyap said the NDA had fallen apart and the UPA would lose its existence in the forthcoming elections. He said both the Congress and the BJP had formed power-sharing arrangements and not alliances based on ideology, hence were destined to disintegrate.
