Congress candidate Preneet Kaur also questioned her opponent SAD-BJP Deepinder Singh Dhillon’s role during his tenure as chairman of the Patiala planning board commission.

Even Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr Dharmvir Gandhi has been flaying Preneet and Dhillon for ignoring the constituency from the health and tourism point of view.

Accusing MP Preneet Kaur for not making concrete efforts to resolve the Ghaggar issue, Dhillon termed the contentious issue as “a matter which needs to be resolved with the central government’s intervention as it involves the interests of Punjab and Haryana”. Addressing a series of election meetings in more than 10 villages of this area, Dhillon said the Punjab gover nment had conveyed many times to the central water commission and agencies concerned about the gravity of the situation, but the UPA government didn’t respond positively till date.
